How to Set or Change the Pass-Enabled Console for a Nintendo Account

Follow these steps to register a Nintendo Switch console as the pass-enabled console for your Nintendo Account.

Additional information

  • Nintendo Accounts can be linked to multiple Nintendo Switch consoles, but can only have one pass-enabled console.

  • Everyone who has a user on the pass-enabled console for a Nintendo Account can access certain subscriptions and passes for that Nintendo Account, such as Just Dance+. On other consoles, only the subscriber can access the pass or subscription.

Complete these steps:

You can register one pass-enabled console per Nintendo Account. If you already have a pass-enabled console registered, follow the steps to change the pass-enabled console.

  1. Link your Nintendo Account on the Nintendo Switch console you want to register as your pass-enabled console.

  2. Select Nintendo eShop on the HOME Menu.

  3. Select the user your Nintendo Account is linked to. When the Nintendo eShop launches, this console will be registered as your pass-enabled console.

  1. Deregister the current pass-enabled console.

  2. On the console that will be the new pass-enabled console, link your Nintendo Account to a new or existing user account, if you haven't already.

  3. Use your Nintendo Account to access the Nintendo eShop on the console that you want to be the pass-enabled console. The system will automatically be registered as the pass-enabled console for your Nintendo Account.

  4. If you no longer have access to the previous system (traded in, stolen, etc.), we recommend that you change your Nintendo Account password to make sure your account isn't accessible on the previous system.
