Nature can be scary...

Howdy, explorers! You know, with Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy on the horizon, we thought this would be a great time to go over some of the wildlife you’ll see.
But you know us—if we’re layin’ down some facts, we gotta be a little extra with it. So, in the spirit of the Halloween season, we decided to showcase a few of the, uh, more unusual creatures you can find in the game. Luckily, we have in-game animal enthusiast Dalmo to give us a bit of insight about each specimen.
Now, please keep in mind, while Dalmo may make some creatures sound friendly, the local wildlife can be quite dangerous.
With mesmerising lights that pierce through the darkness and a low groove that stirs your soul, how can you NOT get your dance on?! Is it a creature or a machine? Who cares! Everyone can join this party! A word of caution though—be careful you don't dance right under one of its feet.
If you were swept up and then tossed away by those long dangling arms, I think you’d better understand what it feels like to be a Pikmin. A little courage is all you need to give it a try. Consider it a learning experience!
Instead of the sky, this scaly anomaly flies through the ground. When it pops its head to the surface, the way its crown of feathers fluffs—though intended to make it more intimidating—is delightful to behold. But be wary of lingering to gaze up at it, as you’ll likely get the poking of a lifetime from that long, sharp beak!
Picture this scenario: like this poor darling, you’re conscious but no longer in control of your own body. Someone or something else has taken you over. A horrifying concept, isn’t it? But what if the thing controlling you couldn’t live if it didn’t do that? Sometimes it’s simply a matter of survival.
When it cowers down to roll up, it looks like it’s feeling lonely. If you get closer, the needles all over its body become projectiles that it will launch at you. I can’t help thinking this is just a plea for attention. It’s OK, prickly bean! I’ll be your friend!
Grow, pluck, and guide a loyal squad of Pikmin to gather resources and do battle with enemies much, much larger than them. Resident good boy and dependable partner, Oatchi, can also help with things like smashing obstacles and carrying you and your Pikmin throughout your adventure.
Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy will be available exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2.
Players with Pikmin 4 in their library of games can purchase the upgrade pack* to get access to all the new features. Enjoy enhanced expeditions with improved visuals, give voice commands to Oatchi, and sharpen your command of Pikmin in a series of exams at Dandori Academy.
Dandori is the art of organising tasks strategically, quickly, and efficiently. In the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of the game, you can try Dandori Academy**, an extensive series of Dandori exam stages for you to test your skill and earn in-game medals! A total of 72 stages will be released over time—and they vary in difficulty, so you can choose the ones that match your skill level.
Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy launches on 12th November.
Want to explore some more? You can print a bunch of sheets to colour in some of the wildlife from the Pikmin series of games like Bulborb, Wollyhop, Fiery Blowhog, Iridescent Flint Beetle, and Snagret.
