It’s time to get creative in the latest trailer for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream!

With Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream arriving on 16th April, we thought it might be helpful to dive into some of the creative (and at times wacky) fun you’ll be able to experience.

Oh! And did you know you can start building your island by downloading a free demo now? If you decide to purchase the game, you’ll even be able to pick up where you left off by transferring your save data!

So…what’s it about?

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is all about building up your very own island, populating it with Mii™ characters, then seeing what happens! You’ll be able to watch over your island and stumble upon little moments as you get to know your Miis (and they get to know each other). But first, you’ll need to make them.

There are two main ways you can make Miis: using Get Help or From Scratch.

With Get Help, think about what the Mii you’d like to create may look like or features you’d like them to have. Then, answer a few questions about what face shape you’d like, hairstyle, eyes, and more. Finished? Now check if the Mii you’ve generated looks similar to what you imagined! If you make a Mii in From Scratch, you’ll be able to select individual features. Choose your Mii character’s face shape, hairstyle, even their eyebrows. With the Face Paint tool, you can add additional features with stamps, or draw them yourself!

Once you’ve got your Mii design, set their height and body type, then answer questions about their personality. Aaaaaand—done! What’s next?

Keepin’ Mii happy

You may see little icons above a Mii character’s head from time to time. Have a chat with them to check in and see what’s on their mind. From giving them yummy-looking food to changing the interior of their home, there are lots of different ways to care for and level up your Miis. You can even gift them catchphrases or quirks to add to their personality!

As more Mii characters appear, the island will grow, and just like in the real world, the residents may start to interact with one another.

Hmm…it looks like two Miis haven’t met yet. You can give them a nudge by picking up a Mii and dropping them near another Mii. Ta-da! Now they know each other. Once acquainted, Miis will start to interact on their own. Keep an eye out, though—they may ask for advice on how to interact with one another. From acquaintances, to friends, to…dating?!

Enhancing your island

To keep your residents comfortable, you’ll need to be creative with your island. Sure, different shops will move in, but are they in good locations? Maybe you can jazz up the surrounding area by using Quick Build amenities.

Not finding what you’re looking for in Quick Build? At Palette House, you can freely draw and make your own creations like food, clothing, buildings, and even pets! Give your creations to residents or use them as decorations around the island.

More for Mii, demo for you!

Sometimes, Miis may even want to live together. You can house up to eight Miis together and watch them interact. Will you see a different side of them?

If you’re looking to welcome more Miis to your island, you can connect with friends using the local wireless* feature. You and your friends can send each other Miis you’ve created as well as items made at Palette House.
