Become the caretaker of an island full of silliness, drama, love, friendship and unexpected surprises in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream for Nintendo Switch. Create anyone you want and watch their wild and wacky lives unfold!
Meet Mii!
Mii characters are the inhabitants of your island. As the caretaker, it’s your job to create and look after them. Miis can be based on your family and friends, someone you admire, or someone completely original!
Create Mii characters from scratch by choosing individual face parts and hairstyles, or by answering a series of questions. Once you’re happy with their look, pick your Mii’s height and body type, select their gender, adjust their dating preferences to your liking, give them a voice and tweak their personality traits.
There are plenty of ways to customise your Miis, such as face paint and face parts that are unique to this game, so let your creativity run wild!
A caring touch
Take good care of your Mii characters and learn what makes them who they are. Give them food, outfits, gifts, and – most importantly – advice as they deal with the ups and downs of daily island life.
Round out their personalities by gifting them little quirks – from standing restlessly and greeting enthusiastically to floating while walking and many more! You can even teach your Mii characters different words and catchphrases which they’ll start using in their conversations. Help them explore their likes and dislikes as they live out their best lives!

Create a brilliant bunch of island dwellers and your island will develop!
At first, your Mii characters will be strangers to one another. That’s where you come in! Give them a little pick me up, placing them next to each other to get them talking. Once they’re acquainted, they’ll start hanging out together on their own.
From there, their relationships can develop in a variety of ways. Watch as your Mii characters forge friendships, get into heated arguments, make dramatic confessions or even find themselves in an unlikely love triangle.
Plus – there’s room for roommates! Up to eight residents can live together in a huge, shared house where they can get up to all sorts of shenanigans.
The more Mii characters you have on your island, the more ways they can connect with each other. Friends, sweethearts, marriage… Who knows where things might go?
Your island,your way
Expand, design and arrange your island as you see fit. Freely move homes and shops as you like, place new hangout spots for your residents to enjoy, and grab trees and shrubs from the Island Design Centre to decorate to your heart's content. Turn your island from dreary to cheery!
Your Mii characters may also share their own ideas on how to brighten things up, such as adding pathways or decorating with flowerpots. Give their suggestions a try and your island is sure to become livelier!
Custom crafts
Want to give your island an even more personal touch? Make all kinds of original items at the Studio Workshop! Create unique house exteriors and ground tiles, design custom clothing, cook up new foods and even make pets for your residents. Why not recreate your favourite dish or draw your own pet? The possibilities are endless!
