How to Earn My Nintendo Points for Physical Software
Description:
Instructions on earning My Nintendo Gold Points for physical games on Nintendo Switch.
Gold Points can still be earned by registering physical Game Cards from the HOME Menu of a Nintendo Switch console, as long as the title has been released by March 24th, 2025. If a title is released after that date, Gold Points cannot be earned. The original release date of a title is defined by the information shown on Nintendo eShop. Gold Points can be earned from registering a Game Card for a period of one year from a title’s original release date in Australia and New Zealand.
Additional Information:
Only physical games for Nintendo Switch whose original release date was on or before 24th March 2025 qualify for My Nintendo points.
Each game card can be redeemed one time.
Physical games earn one-fifth of the Gold Points that would be earned for the equivalent digital version. (For example – if a digital game earns 60 Gold Points, the physical version would earn 12 Gold Points.)
Gold Points must be claimed:
Within one year of the game’s original release date.
If a physical version of a game is released later than the digital version, it may no longer qualify for Gold Points.
Complete These Steps:
Insert the game card into the Nintendo Switch console.
Highlight the game icon on the HOME Menu.
Press the + Button or the – Button to access the options menu for the game.
Highlight “My Nintendo Rewards Programme”, then select “Earn Points (game card version only)”.
Select the Nintendo Account you would like to use to earn the Gold Points.
