How to Back Up Save Data on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch
Steps for backing up save data from a Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console to the Save Data Cloud service.
Before you start
To use the Save Data Cloud Backup service, you must have a Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Additional information
When you become a Nintendo Switch Online member, automatic backup will be enabled for all compatible software. This setting can be adjusted for each game and user on your Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch — save data is unique to each user and is not transferable between users.
If you have both a Nintendo Switch 2 console and a Nintendo Switch console, your save data for your Nintendo Switch games, including Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games, can be backed up and downloaded between both consoles.
Note that you will be able to access your backed up save data for Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games on your Nintendo Switch, but the enhanced features and content of a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition game can only be played on Nintendo Switch 2.
