Bob-ombs away! A free update just pulled up for Mario Kart World, available for Nintendo Switch 2. Ver. 1.6.0 adds another way to Battle, along with a few other tweaks to the game. Check out what’s new!

Bob-omb Blast

You can now go “boom!” with Bob-omb Blast, a newly added way to Battle in Mario Kart World.

The goal of Bob-omb Blast is to pop your opponents’ balloons. However, all items are—you guessed it—Bob-ombs! Unlike regular races and battles, you can stack up to 10 Bob-ombs, so toss them everywhere and overwhelm your rivals with explosions.

You can, of course, team up with others for maximum mayhem. When playing Battle mode online*, one of three modes will now be randomly selected: Balloon Battle, Coin Runners, and Bob-omb Blast.

Adjustments to the Bullet Bill item

Steering as a Bullet Bill now allows for a wider range when you move to the side and an easier use of shortcuts right after you activate the item. When you’re trying to take the lead by using a Bullet Bill, be sure to try out the shortcuts!
