A free update is out now...waitaminute! Is that Dixie Kong?!

Lookin’ for a reason to return to Donkey Kong Island? Well, a new update for the Donkey Kong Country™ Returns HD game has just swung onto the scene! This free update adds a whole banana bunch of stuff, such as:

• Playable Dixie Kong! Yep, that spunky, ponytailed Kong has twirled her way into the game—try out her trusty Helicopter Spin for a bit of extra height

• Turbo Attack mode: Go ape in a time trial mode where everything is sped up!

• Enhanced visual effects

• Enhanced resolution and load times for the Nintendo Switch™ 2 system

• GameShare* support for Nintendo Switch 2: Play together with a friend who does not have the game via local wireless

How to update

It’s quite possible that your game already updated, but you can also check for yourself. On your Nintendo Switch, just highlight the game icon from the HOME Menu, press the + Button, and then select Software Update (internet connection required).

About the game

Not sure what this game is all about? Well, in Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, you’ll help Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, and (now) Dixie Kong recover their precious banana hoard from the villainous Tiki Tak Tribe. Stomp enemies, blast through barrels, and ride rockets and mine carts (and even Rambi the rhino) in 80 levels across nine worlds.
