Somewhere, beyond the horizon…

The world of Concordia has broken apart! Originally unified under the mighty Uni-Tree, the land now lies fractured into many different islands, and its inhabitants are separated from each other across vast seas.

Enter Mario and Luigi, the heroes with a brotherly bond! After arriving unexpectedly in Concordia, they set out with new friends – plus some familiar faces – to reconnect the islands, track down the cause of the disaster and save the day.

Two brothers, one adventure

Welcome aboard Shipshape Island – part island, part ship! Guided by currents, you'll sail across the ocean and encounter lots of different islands to visit. Each is unique, with new faces to meet and places to explore – here are just a few of them!

Rumbla Island

Florall Island

Twistee Island

Merrygo Island

Skorcheen Island

Slippenglide Island

Make your way to each island's Lighthouse by solving puzzles, battling monsters and helping out the locals, then reconnect it to Shipshape Island to start bringing Concordia back together!

Luigi

Mario

Whether exploring or in the heat of battle, the Mario Bros. always work as a team! Take control of both Mario and Luigi at the same time, using each brother's dedicated buttons to jump, attack, dodge and more.

Ship ahoy!

The seas of Concordia are full of shipmates and scoundrels alike! Here are just some of the seadogs you'll encounter on your voyage:

Mario

One half of the famed Mario Bros. (as if you didn't know!). Whether it's leaping over obstacles or hammering enemies, he's here to help Connie restore Concordia to its former glory.

Luigi

The other half of the famed Mario Bros., he's lean, green and keen to lend a hand. Watch out for his bursts of inspiration – you never know when a bit of Luigi Logic might be useful!

Connie

A young girl who found herself aboard Shipshape Island after Concordia was broken. She's intent on growing a new Uni-Tree to bring everything back together, one island at a time.

Snoutlet

As well as helping Connie on her mission to save Concordia, this flying fellow regularly lends Mario and Luigi a hand…er, hoof. But let's be clear – he AIN'T a pig!

Zokket and the Extension Corps

A trio of troublemakers – Ecks, Ten and Shun – looking to cause problems for Mario and Luigi, while their mysterious leader schemes in the shadows over the downfall of Concordia.

Being a whole world away can't stop some familiar faces appearing – not only does Princess Peach drop in to help the Mario Bros., but Bowser's also on hand to cause his own brand of trouble!

Shape up and ship out

Guide Shipshape Island around the currents of Concordia's seas, using the spyglass to watch for islands and other places of interest. If you spot an island on the horizon, use the cannon to blast Mario and Luigi over for a closer look!

Once you've landed, it's time to explore! Every island has a unique environment, and controlling Mario and Luigi as a duo is key to getting around. From see-saws and wall hangs, to puzzles where only working together can clear the way, it's all about teamwork!

The goal of each island is to reach the Lighthouse and reconnect it to the Uni-Tree. Islands change as your quest continues, so it's worth paying another visit now and then. Plus, if you find the Great Lighthouse of each sea, you can discover even more islands!

Enemies blocking your way? Then it's time to fight! Battles are turn-based, as Mario and Luigi fight side-by-side with jumping stomps and hammer strikes. Use well-timed button presses to deal extra damage to opponents, or dodge incoming attacks.

If you like your combat with a little extra oomph, try some Bros. Attacks on for size. These turbo-charged moves require good timing to perform, but seeing Mario and Luigi work together to dish out double-team damage is worth the effort!

Unlock the power of Battle Plugs to add spark to your skills! Depending on which ones you equip, they can boost attacks, beef up defences, provide useful items and more. Each has limited uses before needing a recharge, so choose your moments wisely!

You've got the moves

When it comes to exploring the islands of Concordia, Bros. Moves are essential! Each one harnesses the connection between Mario and Luigi, and provides unique abilities. You can also upgrade them to become even more powerful!
