Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is playable only on Nintendo Switch 2. If the game card is inserted into a Nintendo Switch console, you can play the Nintendo Switch version of the game without any of the additional features exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. If you already own Metroid Prime 4: Beyond for Nintendo Switch, you can purchase the upgrade pack to play the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.

Behold, the planet Viewros...
After an unexpected accident during a clash with the dangerous bounty hunter Sylux, Samus finds herself transported to a strange new planet. She’ll need to thoroughly explore this hostile alien world if she’s to make it off the planet alive...





Samus Aran
One of the greatest bounty hunters in the galaxy. Capable of overcoming any obstacle – no matter the danger.
Sylux
An enigmatic bounty hunter and deadly sharpshooter with a deep-seated grudge against the Galactic Federation – and Samus.
Galactic Federation Troopers
Several troopers also find themselves unexpectedly transported to Viewros. They’ll help Samus out as they try find their way home together.
Lamorn
An alien race that once existed on planet Viewros. They make a solemn request of Samus, granting her new psychic abilities.
Grievers
Ferocious predators found throughout Viewros. They often hunt in packs and are known to attack other creatures indiscriminately.
Wield new abilities




Upon arriving on Viewros, Samus is granted new psychic abilities by the Lamorn. Using these abilities, she’ll be able to operate mechanisms, control the trajectory of charged shots and more, granting access to previously inaccessible areas of the planet.
Along for the ride
As her adventure progresses, Samus also acquires a vehicle called Vi-O-La. Equipped with advanced features, she can ride it across the planet, using unique weaponry to fight enemies.

Precise controls
Dual stick fusion
Use both analogue sticks for aiming and movement.
Pointer fusion
Use the left analogue stick for movement, and motion controls for aiming.
Mouse controls
In either mode, simply place the Joy-Con 2 R on a surface to immediately enable mouse controls.


Choose your display mode
Explore planet Viewros in greater detail with a higher resolution, faster framerate, and HDR support for more vivid colours. Go all-in on visual detail with Quality Mode, or choose Performance Mode to prioritise even smoother gameplay. You can choose either mode to suit your preference.
Quality Mode

- Handheld/Tabletop: 1080p 60 fps HDR
Performance Mode

- Docked: 1080p 120 fps HDR
- Handheld/Tabletop: 720p 120 fps HDR
Compatible with amiibo
New amiibo (sold separately) of Samus – one in her Varia Suit, and one atop the Vi-O-La motorbike – are available now. A third amiibo of Sylux, will also be available from December 4th.
