Assistant Warehouse Manager

Our Operations Department currently has a vacancy for an Assistant Warehouse Manager to join their team on a full-time basis.

As the Assistant Warehouse Manager, you will be primarily responsible for assisting and supporting the Warehouse Manager with organising the safe and efficient receipts, storage and dispatch of warehoused goods. This role is directly responsible for managing a group of team members within the Operations Department.

Key requirements for the role include (but are not limited to):

  • Various order processing warehouse duties including ensuring that all orders are processed through the department quickly and efficiently pursuant to Company procedures and dispatch timelines.

  • Providing accurate records of freight distribution costs within the Warehouse & General Freight to the Warehouse Manager.

  • Working with the Shipping & Freight Supervisor, ensure all planning for the receipt and dispatch of product is carried out daily in conjunction with other departments. Advise any issues to the Warehouse Manager immediately.

  • Various receiving and dispatch duties including investigating, checking, and resolving any problems or queries pertaining to the dispatch of all consignments both internal and external, and advising the Warehouse Manager of any business impacts.

  • Various general freight duties including ensuring all consignments received and dispatched through General Freight are accurately recorded, and repairs are booked in accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Various production duties including overseeing and ensuring assembly activities are performed to meet set targets for quality and efficiency.

  • Maintaining high levels of confidentiality and security around new product assembly.

  • Various warehouse internal control procedures including ensuring the Operations Manual is up to date.

To succeed in the role, you will require:

  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience in Warehousing & Distribution (or equivalent).

  • The ability to analyse current processes and a drive for continuous improvement.

  • A valid forklift license and driver’s license is highly advantageous.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and relationship building skills.
